Consumer Durables & Electrical Equipment
By 2020, India’s consumer durables industry is expected to grow to $20.6 billion. About two thirds of India’s consumer durables are sold in the urban markets at present. In rural markets, refrigerators and consumer electronic goods will witness growing demand in the coming years.
The inflow of disposable income and the advancement of technology have given rise to the need for varied consumer durable goods. As the price gap between goods of different companies are narrowing down, the rural as well as the urban markets are growing at a rate of around 15 %.
India’s electrical equipment industry provides direct employment to 500000 and indirect employment to 10,00,000 people respectively. By 2030, India is likely to emerge as the world’s largest middle class consumer market and as a result, captive manpower supply will be the need for the day for the big organizations looking to dominate the Indian consumer durables scene.
