Among the services sector in India, the Indian hospitality industry has become evident as one of the key drivers of growth. Besides being an important source of foreign exchange for the country, tourism serves as a large employment generator.

To meet the increasing demand of trained manpower, the Ministry of Tourism plans to help the industry by providing hospitality education as well as certifying and upgrading skills of the existing service providers.

The industry is expected to generate 13.45 million jobs across sub-segments like hotels, restaurants and travel agencies.
